Our Team

Ayesha Akhter is a Barrister-at-Law and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. She is a law graduate from University of London, UK, in 2008. In 2010, she completed her Bar Vocational Course (BVC) at City, University of London, UK, and was admitted to the Bar as a Barrister-at-Law by the Honorable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, UK, in 2011. Upon returning to Bangladesh in 2011 she joined Sadat Sarwat and Associates and has remained with the firm ever since. Ayesha was enrolled as an Advocate of the Bangladesh Bar Council in 2012 and as an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh in 2015. In 2021, she pursued her LL.M in International Business Law from Ghent University in Belgium, which she completed with cum laude in 2022.

She was involved in numerous landmark cases, some of which includes assessing the legality and validity of the Government’s Order to impose income tax on private universities, examining the legality of age restrictions on the qualification of freedom fighters in Bangladesh and advocating for the statutory rights of employees at energy and power corporations. Ayesha earned a good repute for her expertise in the legal arena. She has gained diverse experience across a diverse spectrum of legal fields including Commercial Agreements, Project Financing, Banking Litigation, Company Matters, Constitutional Matters, Income Tax, VAT and Customs-related matters, Family Matters, Labour and Employment Matters.
